Police names 2 suspects in trader's kidnapping

Friday, September 30, 2011
THE Philippine National Police (PNP) revealed the identity of the two suspects who are allegedly involved in the kidnapping of businessman Manny Boniao last September 19.
Police Chief Superintendent Jufel C. Adriatico, PNP-Northern Mindanao director, identified the two suspects as Abdul S. Raco and Malik M. Guro, both residents of Marawi City.
Adriatico said they have already filed criminal cases against the two suspects before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
Raco and Guro are allegedly with four other suspects who abducted Boniao inside his establishment in Barangay Gusa Monday last week.
Boniao was later released September 24.

Adriatico said the two suspects were positively identified by some witnesses.
“Our complaint was based on tactic identification and on actual accounts of the witnesses,” he said.
Adriatico said they are presently hunting down the suspects, including those who are not yet identified.
With this, he urged the public to report any information they know related to the case.
“We will capture them early if the public will help us,” Adriatico said, as he thanked his men for giving their best in solving the case as soon as possible.
Adriatico said they will also include in the filing of criminal case the owner of the red Mitsubishi Adventure used by the suspects in abducting Boniao.
“After reviewing the case report submitted by the investigator, I found out that the vehicle owner should also be included in the case,” he said.
The vehicle is owned by Abdul Hakim Grande but reportedly sold it to Enrique Goltiao on September 15, four days before the abduction.
But Adriatico said Goltiao failed to produce the necessary documents to prove ownership of the vehicle.
“Goltiao will be included in the amended charges. Even the City Fiscal attests that it is right to include the vehicle owner for the kidnapping case,” Adriatico said.
